Global Business Challenge (GBC) is a global business case competition designed to increase employability and global business awareness. The groups consist of ten 8 to 10 participants, each with a coach and a business problem.  It was my privilege to be selected among 182 master's students worldwide.

I worked with students from the United Kingdom's Salford, Aston, Brunel Universities, the United States Southern New Hampshire University and The Evergreen State College, and Ecuador's Universidad de Especialidades Espiritu Santo.

Dr Ambarin Khan coached my team. Universal Cargo Ecuador, our client, offers supply chain solutions for business-to-business logistics shipping. They aim to increase their market presence, global reach, customer loyalty, and social media visibility.

At first, it was challenging for my team to tackle the task, get to know each other, manage different time zones, and communicate with the client. But with the help of our coach and check-in questions, we quickly overcame this obstacle. We planned meetings, allocated tasks based on team members' strengths, looked into the market & competitors of the client company, and came up with a plan. Finally, we met with the client via Zoom to discuss how it could be implemented. To make communication even smoother, our teammates from Ecuador briefed the client in Spanish. It was incredible to see how we pulled it off!

Our solution involved using keywords to improve their SERP ranking. Improve their website by adding self-service features like shipping waybills, booking services, tracking features, and a customer assistance chatbot. Also, we recommended improving client relationships through email and social media platforms like LinkedIn, a B2B site with people with similar interests; Twitter, which is suitable for social listening and on-the-go customer service; and Instagram, which is ideal for engagement. We gave the client a detailed proposal.

On Thursday, December 10, we held a Pecha Kucha to commemorate the end of GBC 2022. We were told to include four realms of entertainment in our presentations. "The Experience Economy: Involving customers in experiences necessitates new ways of thinking." A person or team is creating an experience when they use services as the stage and goods as props to engage particular customers in a way that produces a memorable event. (Gilmore and Pine, 2020).

It was a privilege to create the video for my team, and we were named the best GBC 2022 team.

I encourage students to participate in the GBC if given the opportunity. I wanted to put my skills to the test and learn from others, and the experience far exceeded my expectations. Thank you to The University of Salford and Salford Business School for this opportunity, as well as team coach Dr Ambarin Asad Khan and teammates (Eileen, Apoorva Marahalli Nanjundappa, Olutayo Aderounmu, Zachary Wood, Paula, Eduardo, and Faizan) for competing and giving it their all during this competition.
